Delete Your Account
1. Overview
This page explains how to delete your Velovate account — the cycling team, training, and fundraising app published by Sassy Dog Enterprises LLC — along with the data associated with it. Velovate is available on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, and as a member web app at members.velovate.app.
Quick summary: Open the app, go to Settings → Privacy & data → Delete my account, and confirm. Your account is hidden immediately and your personal data is permanently erased after a 30-day recovery window. If you no longer have access to the app, you can email support@velovate.app to request deletion.
2. Delete From the App
The fastest way to delete your account and associated data is from within Velovate. You must be signed in.
2.1 Android & iOS (mobile app)
- Open the Velovate app and sign in.
- Tap Settings.
- Under Privacy & Safety, tap Privacy & data(“Retention, policy, and delete account”).
- Tap Delete my account.
- Read the confirmation, then confirm the deletion.
2.2 Web (members.velovate.app)
- Sign in at members.velovate.app.
- Open Privacy from the settings menu (or go directly to members.velovate.app/privacy).
- In the Delete my account section, click Delete my account and confirm.
3. Request by Email
If you can no longer sign in or access the app, you can ask us to delete your account on your behalf.

To protect your account, we may ask you to verify ownership of the email address before processing the request. We respond to deletion requests within 30 days.
4. Data That Is Deleted
When deletion completes, the following is permanently erased:
- Your profile details — name, email, phone number, profile photo, and bio (your name and email are first anonymized, then the underlying personal data is purged).
- Your precise location history — per-second GPS breadcrumbs and ride tracking sessions.
- Emergency alerts and saved emergency-contact information.
- Public tracking links you created and their visit logs (IP address and device/browser).
- Feedback and support submissions you sent from the app.
- Your sign-in credential link to our authentication provider, so you can no longer log in.
5. Data That Is Retained
Some records are kept after deletion, in de-identified form, so that other members’ history and our legal obligations remain intact. These records no longer identify you:
- Ride summaries (distance, duration, average and max speed) — retained to preserve team history and aggregate statistics. The precise GPS points behind them are deleted.
- Ride attendance and team-membership history— kept for team and teammate records, attributed to “Deleted user” rather than your name.
- Donation and fundraising records — retained where required for financial, tax, and charity-receipt obligations.
- An audit-log entry of the deletion itself — retained for security and compliance.
Residual copies in encrypted backups are purged within 90 days. See our Privacy Policy for full retention details.
6. Timing & Recovery
- Immediately: your account is hidden — teammates and public tracking links can no longer find you, and you are signed out.
- Within 30 days (recovery window): you can email support@velovate.app to reactivate your account.
- After 30 days: your personal data is permanently and irreversibly erased as described above. This cannot be undone.
- Within 90 days: residual copies in backups are purged.
